Heidi Klum was conceived in Bergisch Gladbach in Germany in June of 1973. Erna Klum is her hairdresser's mother. Gunther was the father of Gunther and a senior executive at a cosmetics manufacturer. Heidi's mother worked as the producer at 4711 Parfum. Heidi was born in Bergisch Gladbach (a city of around 100,000 inhabitants about six miles to the to the west of Cologne), Heidi was raised in the city. She is a former model from Germany and America who works as a TV host, producer and fashion designer. Klum faced off against 25,000 contestants in Germany, Europe and beyond until she reached third place. In April of 1992, Klum won a top model prize worth $300,000.
